Hi girls! This week our blog is all about perfumes! There are lots of do’s and dont’s when it comes to using perfume. Also, we like to give you some tips and tricks to keep a scent as long as possible. This way you can enjoy your fragrance for a long time.

When choosing the right fragrance it is very important to know a few things. Most of you already know which scent you prefer the most. The scents can roughly be divided in four categories: fresh, sweet/floral, spicy and woody notes. Also, perfumes have three different notes. Note number one is the top note, top notes are immediately present in the first minutes after applying the scent to your skin. Usually these smells disappear within the first half hour. The second note is the heart note, these middle notes are the scents that you can smell after the top notes. The third note is the base note, these bottom notes are the scents that remain last. They will give off fragrance for hours during your day. That’s why you need to go for your favorite scents in the heart and base notes, this scent is the strongest.

Always apply you perfume before you put on your jewelry. Ones applied, let it dry for a minute before you put jewelry on. The golden rule when it comes to keeping your jewelry pretty is “last on, first off”. Your jewels should be the last thing you put on before you leave the house, and the first thing you take off before beginning your nighttime beauty routine. This way your treasures stay pretty without discoloration.

The best places to spray perfume is on areas that are exposed to the air. On your wrist, inner elbow, neck and behind your ears is where perfume should be. Don’t rub your wrist against each other, after spraying perfume on. This way you can destroy the molecules in the perfume which give the nice scent. Perfume doesn’t last long on dry skin, try using a body lotion or moisturizer before spraying!

Wonder how to keep your scent nice and strong for a long time? Always keep you perfume in a box or in a closet. This way your scent doesn’t come into contact with direct sunlight, sunlight can also make a scent less strong. Temperatures are also an enemy of perfumes. Try to keep your perfume bottle at the same temperature. When traveling, bring mini sizes so your big bottle doesn’t get exposed to temperature changes.

We hope you learned a lot about how to get the most out of you perfumes!

Much love,
